About the album
The Reexistir album is divided into two parts. In the first 20 minutes, which go from the first to the sixth track, the songs address political, current and recurrent themes both in Brazilian society and in other western societies. In the second part, which starts with the seventh track, the songs bring themes that question introspection, bringing reflection on loneliness, imposed isolation, annulment and the hope for better days, even if swim upstream.

PART I
Emergência – Portrays the beginning of the state of emergency that started in March 2020, how much a worldwide public calamity was of no use for some individuals in society not having changed their ways of thinking and acting in relation to others.

Caos/Isolado - Brings harsh political criticism to rulers who use their positions to practice corruption and violations that they themselves say are against.

Canção do Ódio – It is the acceptance of chaos and fear, having as a guiding thread the story of the literary work, 1984, by the British writer George Orwell.

Sem Cura – It is a question about the quarantine, about the social isolation experienced in 2020 and 2021 and about the neglect of how life is treated by the authorities.

Vaccinum - Talks about the race for vaccines that took place from 2020 to 2021, about science denialism and about anti-vax people.

Sadista – It is the apex of the revolt, brings in its lyrics strong criticism of dictators and anti-democratic governments, ending the political theme of the album.

PART II
Dissentimento – Raises the question of whether the problems in our lives are caused by ourselves and if we changed our ways of living, this would be decisive for the necessary changes (that sometimes we do not even know which ones they are) to live in harmony. It talks about how we keep and hide opinions and divergences of ideas within ourselves to deprive people around us and ourselves of suffering and arguments. However, leaving a doubt in the air, whether it is good or bad to change the way of dealing with frustrations.

Anulado - Describes moments of confinement and social isolation, with or without pandemics. It talks about people who hide from themselves and end up being isolated by their own selfishness or by the fear of always having to be accepted. In parallel, it also portrays the culture of cancellation.

Dreaming Deep - First track written in English. This song brings a little hope for a better future. The imaginary of heaven and hell and the choices made in life that lead the way to be followed.

Swin Upstream – Second track written in English. It also brings a thread of hope, maintaining a utopian faith into better days, but swimming against the current, deviating from the masses.

About the band
After spending 10 years at the head of the band Infraaudio, having released 4 EPs, 1 album, 1 DVD, some music videos and performed several shows in the southeastern region Brazil, Felipe Fenix finds himself musically desolate in the midst of the Corona Virus pandemic crisis, and decides to set up his solo project. Following current events, compositions begin to emerge freely and at the end of August 2020, Fenix realized that he had enough songs that could be worked on and transformed into a phonographic record. The Fenix e As Cinzas project was then born, which features Felipe on vocals, guitar and compositions, Gabe Halencar on bass and vocals and Rodrigo Leal on drums.
Felipe Fenix brings his main sound influences through his music, ranging from experimental studies in effects pedals and dissonant guitar tunings, to post-punk, noise rock and pop music, culminating in alternative rock at an international level. The songs carry an objective, poetic and dense approach. The compositions point to a questioning tone with the main concept of confinement, isolation with or without epidemics and criticism of institutions and politics in general. Felipe also addresses the 21st century’s human egocentrism, the rebirth of existence after chaos times.
Felipe Fenix's solo project highlights alternative rock, based on references from bands that most influenced him on how he plays guitar and sings. Sonic Youth, Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, The Cure, A Place To Bury Strangers, Violeta de Outono, Pinups and Second Come are the source of inspiration for Fenix and As Cinzas. With lyrics sung in Portuguese and English, driven by guitar, bass and drums, they culminate in distorted and space mantras that become the sound of a soul in catharsis trying to get out of a nightmare.
Fenix e As Cinzas is indie rock, noise rock, post-punk, post-rock, alternative rock straight from the 80s and 90s, surpassing time and eternalizing the culture of an era.

Sobre o álbum
O álbum Reexistir é dividido em duas partes. Nos primeiros 20 minutos, que vão da primeira até a sexta faixa, as músicas abordam temas políticos, atuais e recorrentes tanto na sociedade brasileira como em outras sociedades do ocidente. Já na segunda parte, que inicia na sétima faixa, as músicas trazem temas que questionam a introspecção, trazendo a reflexão sobre solidão, isolamento imposto, anulação e a esperança de dias melhores, mesmo nadando contra a correnteza.
PARTE I
Emergência – Retrata o início do estado de emergência iniciado em março de 2020, o quanto não adiantou uma calamidade pública em escala mundial para alguns indivíduos da sociedade não terem mudado em nada suas formas de pensar e agir em relação ao próximo.
Caos/Isolado - Traz duras críticas políticas aos governantes que utilizam de suas posições para praticar corrupção e violações que eles mesmos se dizem contrários.
Canção do Ódio – É a aceitação do caos e do medo, tendo como fio condutor a história da obra literária, 1984, do escritor britânico George Orwell.
Sem Cura – É um questionamento sobre a quarentena, sobre o isolamento social vivido em 2020 e 2021 e sobre o descaso de como a vida é tratada pelas autoridades.
Vaccinum – Fala sobre a corrida pelas vacinas que aconteceu de 2020 a 2021, sobre o negacionismo da ciência e sobre os anti-vax.
Sadista – É o ápice da revolta, traz em sua letra fortes críticas aos governos ditadores e antidemocráticos, finalizando a temática política do álbum.
PARTE II
Dissentimento – Traz o questionamento sobre se os problemas em nossas vidas são causados por nós mesmos e se mudássemos nossas formas de viver isso seria determinante para as mudanças (que às vezes nem sabemos quais são) necessárias para viver em harmonia. Fala de como guardamos e escondemos opiniões e divergências de ideias dentro de nós mesmos, para privar do sofrimento e da discussão tanto as pessoas ao redor quanto a si próprio. Porém, deixando uma dúvida no ar, se é bom ou ruim mudar o jeito de lidar com as frustrações.
Anulado - Descreve momentos de confinamento e isolamento social, com ou sem pandemias. Fala de como há pessoas que se escondem de si mesmas e acabam ficando isoladas pelo próprio egoísmo ou pelo medo de sempre ter que ser aceito. Em paralelo também retrata a cultura do cancelamento.
Dreaming Deep - Primeira faixa escrita em inglês. Essa música traz um pouco de esperança em um futuro melhor. O imaginário do céu e inferno e as escolhas tomadas na vida que dão o caminho a ser seguido.
Swin Upstream – Segunda faixa escrita em inglês. Também traz um fio de esperança mantendo uma fé utópica em dias melhores, porém nadando contra a corrente, desviando das massas.



Sobre a banda Fenix e As Cinzas
Após passar 10 anos à frente da banda Infraaudio, tendo lançado, 4 EPs, 1 álbum, 1 DVD, alguns videoclipes e feito diversos shows na região sudeste do país, Felipe Fenix se vê desolado musicalmente em meio à crise da pandemia do Corona Vírus, e resolve montar seu projeto solo. Seguindo os acontecimentos atuais, as composições começam a surgir livremente e ao fim de agosto de 2020, Fenix percebeu que possuía músicas suficientes que poderiam ser trabalhadas e transformadas em um registro fonográfico. Nasce então o projeto Fenix e As Cinzas, que conta com Felipe nos vocais, guitarra e composições, Gabe Halencar no contrabaixo e voz e Rodrigo Leal na bateria.
Felipe Fenix traz através das músicas suas principais influências sonoras que vão dos estudos do experimentalismo em pedais de efeitos e afinações dissonantes nas guitarras, passando pelo pós-punk, noise rock e a música pop, culminando em rock alternativo em nível internacional. As músicas carregam uma abordagem objetiva, poética e densa. As composições apontam para um tom de questionamento com o conceito principal do confinamento, do isolamento com ou sem epidemias e críticas às instituições e a política de forma geral. Felipe aborda também o egocentrismo humano do século XXI e o renascimento da existência após períodos de caos.
O projeto solo de Felipe Fenix evidencia o rock alternativo, tendo como princípio referências de bandas que mais o influenciaram na maneira de tocar guitarra e cantar.
