After almost two years, the Instant Lake band is back on stage with their new single + video "Death to slavery" out of next 22 february and which anticipates their second studio work scheduled for next autumn with the brazilian label Wave-Records.
A new single and a new singer for the band: to give voice to the quartet of southern Italy the new-entry Gennaro De Lena who has completed his training together with Pierluigi Grauso (guitar), Carlo Landolfi (bass) and Dario Amoroso (synth).
On one hand "Death to slavery" fits into the sound tradition of Instant Lake, on the other it marks the passage to more decadent sounds. The strong evocative vocals underline a sharp fracture with the first work in studio that dates back to 2017: Refractory that had had so much favor by critics and audience. One of the most pleasant surprises of the international underground music scene, Refractory completed the work the band started with the first two singles + video Caustero (2016) and Sit Back ( 2017).
Tradition and innovation combined with an ancient spirit that in "Death to slavery" are translated into human archetypes of the desire to return to distant lands and to one’s loved ones from which one has been driven away. Ancestral desires, concrete and symbolic, but at the same time of extraordinary actuality: that is, to prevent the circulation of the released trailer from being sponsored by Facebook in countries such as Brazil, USA and United Kingdom. The most important social on the planet sets, for these countries, limits through which "Death to slavery" cannot pass, defining 25" of music and two stanzas “contents of political nature and issues of national interest " thus forcing the Italian quartet to remove the aforementioned countries from the list for the sponsorship of the trailer that otherwise could not have started.
Even more aware of the emotional impact of their music, Instant Lake will try to dig into the depths of their listeners by representing through their art the emotions, passions, fears and anxieties of humankind in constant and rapid change.
The band's future seems to be outlined in their ideas and their projects awaiting, as said at the opening, the second studio work scheduled for next autumn.
